Well, on Monday afternoon I got the call that the condo was officially mine….wooo, hooo! This now meant that I needed to get in there and get started painting. I previously owned a house and I have always been a firm believer in doing projects around the home myself if I can, so transforming my “pink palace” into something a little more modern with some paint seemed an easy task. I knew that I would have to paint because the previous owner’s wife very clearly liked the color pink so much so that she painted every surface that could be painted pink – every surface! So, yesterday I began the task of painting. I went to the store, picked my colors, got my supplies, headed back to the condo and started painting. I was very focused and determined and eager to remove every trace of pink from my new home. I was finishing up my kitchen when I began to realize that the white paint that I picked for my kitchen ceiling was really a very pale green that did not complement the green that was now on my kitchen walls…stink! Then a friend came over to visit and she confirmed that it was indeed green, but of course I was basically finished with the ceiling. Fortunately, a friend from Chicago, who has been in Az visiting family offered to come over and help me paint. We got new paint and quickly set to the task of repainting the ceiling and then painting the dining room/living room. It was fun talking and painting and in the end the kitchen, dining room, and living room got finished. Of course, I didn’t get home until close to 2am, ouch! It was way too much work though because of the fact that my walls are textured walls, so I am rethinking painting the rest of the place. It might just stay pink for a while. I like pink. It’s really not so bad. I can live with pink. Maybe if I keep telling myself those things I will start to believe them. Maybe!
Tootles for now. Today I am cleaning the carpets and shopping. Fun!
